Sleeping with Frank Hardy
Sometimes on a case, you're both scrimping for money. This time around, you and Frank only have enough for a single bed motel room. He tried insisting that you take the bed and he take the couch, but you knew if that happened he'd wake up with a backache and a migraine. Besides, the bed is clean, it passed inspection, and it's a Queen sized mattress. Plenty of room for the both of you.
The rain is falling steadily during the night, with the thunder in the distance as a soothing afterthought. Frank is fast asleep, even if his body is still a bit on alert, not fully in the REM cycle just yet. Still, his snoring is soft -- thankfully -- and his body is warm, especially when he rolls over and holds onto you for a while, not even realizing he's doing it. That's okay though. It makes you feel safe, and you don't have to mention it the next morning.
